#30: Learn 10 new vocabulary words

As I’m writing this, I realize that though I’m “learning” new vocabulary words, I’m not actually learning them.  I’m not using them, I haven’t actually added them to my vocabulary.  So, I’m expanding this goal to say that I have to use each of these vocabulary words somewhere in my novel I’m forcing myself to write.

Here is a new one.  I don’t know this word at all, but for some reason I like it:

esoteric \es-uh-TER-ik\, adjective:

1. understood by or meant for only the select few who have special knowledge or interest; recondite
2. belonging to the select few
3. private; secret; confidential
4. (of a philosophical doctrine or the like) intended to be revealed only to the initiates of a group
