I finished Moloka’i yesterday.
It was a sad, but uplifting book. Surprisingly, it also taught me a bit of history since the events (but not the characters) were based on reality. I’ve never been a history buff, and I’m shamefully unaware of a lot of our nation’s historical events. I can definitely see why this book has been popular with book clubs.
Next up – I just started reading The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. I read This Lullaby earlier, and didn’t think it lived up to the hype. It wasn’t terrible, but I didn’t fall in love. My online book club convinced me to give her another try, so I am. Everyone deserves a second chance, right?
