I finished Then We Came to the End. It won some awards and some critics claimed it was “Hilarious!” I didn’t think it was hilarious. I thought, if anything, it was somewhat realistic at times, somewhat off the charts at times, and overall depressing. However, it was well-written, very detailed, and you could picture the characters clearly even though there were few descriptors of their physical appearance.
Now on to The Book Thief. I picked it up earlier this week when I accidentally (and ironically) left my other book in my office. So far, I’m really impressed by this novel, so I hope it doesn’t disappoint.
As for my next check-off (write a letter to someone I admire), the letter has now been mailed (signed, sealed, delivered….I’m yours!) I started writing it about 2 months ago, but like anything else I write, I over-read it, nitpick it, and edit edit edit until I hate it. I almost did the same thing with this letter. At the last minute, I decided to hunt down the original letter, make tiny grammar and word changes, and send it off as it was. I’m not going to go into much detail, other than to say the letter is private and I’m glad I sent it off.
