My online book club started a small read-along for the Lord of the Rings, starting with The Hobbit.  Surprisingly, I have never read any of these book or watched the movies.  I’ve been meaning to watch the trilogy for a long time, which is why I included that on my 101 list.  Now that we’re doing this read-along, I’m going to read the books first, then watch the movies.

I finished The Hobbit yesterday.  It was an easy read, and each part of the journey was interesting enough, but  I didn’t fall in love with it.  I do wish I would have read it when I was younger because I probably would have enjoyed it much more.

I’m going to knock out The Great Gatsby over the next couple of days since it’s a tiny book.  This is another classic I haven’t read in at least 10 years.  When I’m done, I’ll probably pick up Fellowship of the Ring.
