#23: Read 50 books in 1 year

I finished The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver last night.   After reading two of her novels, I’m definitely interested in reading more by this author.   She brings up social or political issues and the reader learns about them through the eyes of someone innocently uninformed.  I really felt a connection with her characters even though we had little in common.

I started The Color Purple by Alice Walker this morning, a movie I have seen a million times but a book I have surprisingly never read.

  1. You should have set your goal as 100 instead of 50! This is clearly a piece of cake for you! Did you realize how many books you read a year before this? Meanwhile, every time I read your blog my TBR list grows!

  2. For the past few years, I had barely read anything new. I re-read the same books from previous years, but that was it. Maybe 10-15 books total a year. I thought 50 might be a lofty goal, but it turns out there are tons of great reads waiting for me out there!
