Sometimes I feel as though this is the only thing I post.

Anyway, I finished The Color Purple, which is a book I think everyone should read.  I have loved the movie as long as I can remember and have always found it both heartbreaking and beautiful.  I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve read the book.

The movie was a wonderful adaptation, and I felt as though the book just expanded my knowledge of the characters and the events.  It expanded on Shug & Celie’s relationship and gave us a lot more information about Nettie’s experiences in Africa.  Written in a journalistic format (early letter were addressed Dear God, later letters were written to or from Nettie), you really get to know the characters.
