My Dell is dying.
My old Dell laptop started dying around year 3 and I finally gave up on it a year later. I’m not quite ready to give up on this one yet since it’s only 2 1/2 years old. However, it’s started to really piss me off, to be honest.
Plugged in, not charging.

PLUGGED IN, NOT CHARGING!!
My battery only sometimes charges. I made the mistake a few days ago of forgetting to check to see if the power cord was plugged in before going to bed. Now the battery is completely drained and absolutely refusing to charge. I’ve tried all of the troubleshooting, tried purchasing a new AC Adapter, etc. Right now it works, but only plugged in and holding my breath just right. I ordered a new battery to try to hold on a little longer, but the prognosis probably isn’t good. I’m just not ready to give up on a computer that is still super-speedy, and I’m not willing to pile a bunch of money into a sinking ship.
So, just in case , I ordered a 1TB portable hard drive and I transferred everything over. My goods are safe on the Seagate. I hope.
Any other Dell owners have a solution for me to try?
I had something similar happen to my old laptop; ordering a new battery fixed the problem. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that the same will work for you 🙂
